چکیده

In order to overcome the limitations of debugging process, insufficient consideration of imperfect debugging and testing-effort (TE) in software reliability modeling and analysis, a software reliability growth model (SRGM) explicitly incorporating imperfect debugging and TE is developed. From the point of view of incomplete debugging and introduction of new fault, software testing process is described and a relatively unified SRGM framework is presented considering TE. The proposed framework models are fairly general models that cover a variety of the previous works on SRGM with ID and TE. Furthermore, a special SRGM incorporating an improved Logistic testing-effort function (TEF) into imperfect debugging modeling is proposed. The effectiveness and reasonableness of the proposed model are verified by published failure data set. The proposed model closer to real software testing has better descriptive and predictive power than other models.

Unified Framework for Developing Testing Effort Dependent Software Reliability Growth Models

Several software reliability growth models (SRGMs) have been presented in the literature in the last three decades. These SRGMs take into account different testing environment depending on size and efficiency of testing team, type of components and faults, design of test cases, software architecture etc. The plethora of models makes the model selection an uphill task. Recently, some authors hav...

Software Reliability Modeling with Testing-Effort Function and Imperfect Debugging

Considering testing effort and imperfect debugging in reliability modeling process may further improve the fitting and prediction results of software reliability growth models (SRGMs). For describing the S-shaped varying trend of the testing-effort increasing rate more accurately, this paper first proposes a inflected S-shaped testing effort function (IS-TEF). Then this new TEF is incorporated ...

Unified Framework For Developing Testing Effort Dependent Software Reliability Growth Models With Change Point And Imperfect Debugging

In order to address the continuing demand for high quality Low cost reliable software, Hundreds of software reliability growth models (SRGMs) have been proposed in recent years. In spite of the diversity and elegance of many of these, no single model can be readily recommended as best to represent the challenging nature of the software testing. Of late, some authors have tried to develop a unif...

Testing Effort Control using Flexible Software Reliability Growth Model with Change Point

There exist various Software Reliability Growth models (SRGMs) in the software reliability engineering literature which assume diverse testing environments like distinction between failure and removal processes, learning of the testing personnel, possibility of imperfect debugging and error generation etc. But most of them are based upon constant or monotonically increasing Fault Detection Rate...

A testing-coverage software reliability model considering fault removal efficiency and error generation

In this paper, we propose a software reliability model that considers not only error generation but also fault removal efficiency combined with testing coverage information based on a nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP). During the past four decades, many software reliability growth models (SRGMs) based on NHPP have been proposed to estimate the software reliability measures, most of which ha...
